1. Introduction
Seqtrix (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates seqtrix.com and the Seqtrix desktop application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using any Seqtrix product, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed version of that password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google's OAuth service.
Subscription information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects billing details on our behalf. We store your plan tier and subscription identifiers to manage your account. We do not store credit card numbers or bank details on our servers.
Analytics (consent-gated)
With your explicit consent, we collect anonymous usage analytics to understand how visitors interact with seqtrix.com. No analytics data is collected unless you accept cookies via the consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.
Error reports
We collect anonymous error reports to diagnose and fix bugs. These reports do not contain personal information, file contents, or encryption keys.
Cookies
- Authentication cookies - essential for keeping you signed in. These are set automatically when you log in.
- Analytics cookies - set only after you accept cookies via the consent banner. Used for anonymous usage analytics.
- Consent preference- stores whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies so we don't ask again.
3. How we protect your data
All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS.
Files you encrypt using the Seqtrix desktop application are protected with AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption with unique per-file salts. Your encryption keys and passwords are generated and stored locally on your device - they are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We cannot access, recover, or decrypt your encrypted files, vaults, or password-locked items under any circumstances.
4. Third-party services
To operate Seqtrix we rely on a small set of carefully chosen third-party service providers across the following categories:
- Authentication & database provider - stores your account credentials and any cloud-synced data you opt to back up.
- Web hosting provider - serves seqtrix.com and the related auth pages.
- Web analytics provider - anonymous usage analytics, collected only after you accept cookies via the consent banner.
- Payment processor - handles all billing, card-handling, and subscription mandates. We never receive or store raw card numbers, CVVs, or bank credentials on our servers.
- Error monitoring provider - receives anonymous crash diagnostics. No personal information, file contents, or encryption keys are transmitted.
Each provider processes data in accordance with its own privacy commitments and applicable data-protection law. We review each provider periodically and use only those that maintain enterprise-grade security and compliance posture.
International data flow.Seqtrix is operated from India. Some of our third-party providers may process and store data on servers located outside India (typically in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the United States, depending on the provider's regional configuration). By using Seqtrix, you consent to your personal data being transferred to and processed in these jurisdictions in accordance with this policy and the respective providers' data-protection commitments.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymous analytics data is retained in accordance with our analytics provider's standard retention policies.
6. Data breach notification
In the unlikely event of a security breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users within a reasonable timeframe via the email address associated with your account, along with details of the breach and steps we are taking to address it.
