What's new in Seqtrix 0.16

Seqtrix 0.16 adds Focus Lock: block the apps and websites that pull you away, for 15 minutes to 8 hours or until a clock time. It also shows the time your sequences save you, lets you share a sequence as a link, and makes trials, passes and renewals easier to follow. Here is what changed, in plain words.

Get it from Microsoft Store

Installs from the Microsoft Store, no SmartScreen prompt. Free Starter plan, no account.

Download the installer (211 MB)

Direct installer for Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit, v0.16.0.

Both include the 15-day Advanced trial, which starts with one click when you first need it. For Hard Focus Lock sessions the installer is the firmer choice: see the known limitations.

Focus Lock: block what pulls you away

Pick the apps and websites that distract you, set a time from 15 minutes to 8 hours or until a clock time, and choose how firm the lock is:

  • Soft ends any time, from the Mini Mode ring or the app. Free on every plan.
  • Firm ends only when you type a 24-character code shown on screen.
  • Hard cannot be ended early. If Seqtrix is killed, a watchdog relaunches the blocker within a minute. The only way out is one emergency exit per 7 days, which takes effect 10 minutes after you ask.

A blocked app is closed within a second of opening. Website blocking uses the Windows hosts file, asks for permission once, and shows a local "Focused until 15:30" page instead of the site. Five new focus templates are built on Focus Lock, which takes the library to 85 templates, 15 of them free. Firm, Hard and website blocking need Advanced or Pro, and the 15-day Advanced trial covers them.

Step by step: a focus mode on Windows that blocks apps and sites. Choosing a blocker: Seqtrix compared with Cold Turkey and Freedom.

Time Saved: see what your sequences give back

Every completed run now adds an estimated "done by hand" time. The Dashboard shows this month, all time and your runs, each sequence says what it saves per run, and an optional hourly rate turns the time into money. Every figure is marked as an estimate, with a note on how it is worked out.

On the 1st of each month, and three days before a pass or trial ends, a recap card sums up your runs, sequences and time saved. Signed-in users can also get the recap by email. Free users see all of it.

Trials, passes and renewals

  • On the free Starter plan you can build and save as many sequences as you like. Beyond the 5 your plan runs, they wait as Drafts and run as soon as your plan allows.
  • The 15-day Advanced trial starts with one click when you first need it, and a countdown sits in the sidebar.
  • A pass warns you 7, 3 and 1 days before it ends. After that, everything keeps running for 3 days, then sequences beyond the Starter 5 pause. Nothing is deleted.
  • You renew without leaving Seqtrix.
  • Pro Lifetime, a one-time purchase that keeps Pro on all your devices with no end date, shows on the purchase screen and goes on sale soon.

Share a sequence as a link

Every sequence has a Share button. A review screen swaps your folders for placeholders and lets you untick steps before you publish, and each link is a page on seqtrix.com that opens in Seqtrix. Opening a shared sequence shows every step first, with download-and-run commands highlighted, before anything is added. Sharing needs a Seqtrix account.

When a friend signs in through your referral link, you both get 14 Advanced days.

Panic hotkey

One key chord locks Windows, locks Master Mode and mutes audio, then encrypts the folders on your Panic list in the background and tells you when it is done. On every plan.

Also new

  • Suggested for you: on first launch, three ready-to-run sequences for the apps on your PC. The apps are detected on your PC and the list is not sent anywhere.
  • A 24-word recovery kit for Master Mode, shown once, for the day you forget the password.
  • Scheduled unlocks that happen on time, even if Seqtrix was closed.
  • Close an app by typing its name, and wait until a time of day.
  • A "How Seqtrix works" map of the whole app.
  • Crash reports are off until you turn them on in Settings > Privacy.

Fixed

  • Key combos typed as text now work on every keyboard layout.
  • The microphone mute mutes the microphone.
  • Weekly schedules run on the days you picked.
  • The screenshot template saves the capture.
  • A paid plan is no longer lost when the payment confirmation has to be retried.

Known limitations

  • The Microsoft Store build cannot block an uninstall during a Hard session, and a Store update may pause the watchdog until Seqtrix is opened again. The installer from seqtrix.com refuses the uninstall.
  • A browser set to its own DNS over HTTPS provider bypasses website blocking. Turn that setting off in the browser, or block the browser app instead.
  • Website blocking was checked in Edge and Chrome. Firefox was not tested.
  • Hard sessions are built to survive a sign-out, a restart and a clock change, and tests cover it, but those cases were not yet confirmed by hand when the release notes were written.
  • Panic's mute is a toggle, so a PC that is already muted gets unmuted.

New on seqtrix.com in October 2026

  • A download page with both ways to install, the Microsoft Store and the direct installer, and the installer's SHA-256 checksum.
  • A changelog that explains every Windows release of Seqtrix.
  • Eight new how-to guides, twelve in all, from encrypting a file without BitLocker to hiding a folder.
  • Prices in US dollars first, with Indian rupees still available at checkout.
  • Checkout keeps the plan, period and currency you picked when it asks you to sign in, then brings you back to where you were.
  • Rewritten legal pages, including version 2.0 of the EULA.
